CLEVELAND BLACK FUTURES FUND
The grant is meant to support Ohio Black –Led Nonprofits in eligible locations mainly for capacity building and COVID-19- Related initiatives. The applicant should demonstrate the impacts of COVID-19 health crisis on the community reflected on the proposal letter. Eligible applicant should be based in Greater Cleveland where they are targeted to dismantling systematic racism and advancing the community towards racial equity as long term goals.
The main purpose of this grant is to strengthen the ecosystem of African leaders and organizations owned by black people based in Cleveland by providing international resources to help them grow their organizations in terms of organizational structure and capacity.
Priorities
All applicants are expected to demonstrate how the pandemic of COVID-19S has affected them as the current crisis across the globe. However the grant is not limited to the fraction of health, public health or social services work. Since the company strongly trust that other working features may be adopted across different sectors by importing them to the health and resilience of community during this pandemic period where some of the issues may include; environmental work, technology, arts, policy and advocacy among others.
Eligibility
Although the applicants organization maybe operating in a range of different issues, the grant is only meant to organizations that are currently holding 501©3 tax-exempt status. Those that don’t hold on this kind of tax may apply a grant in partnership with tax-exempt organization serving as fiscal agent.
The grant is also meant to invest in Cleveland- based nonprofit organizations that are both Black-led and Black serving. Organizations that do serve Black communities but do not have Black executive leaders are not qualified to apply for this grant opportunity.
