Black women are increasingly entering the world of entrepreneurship, and the growth has been quite phenomenal. With the increase in entrepreneurship comes the need for greater funding. However, given the funding disparity between Black women and their business counterparts, getting any reasonable funding in the form of grants can be quite challenging.
Black Founder Startup Grant is trying to change this story, and as such, has created the Diversity in an Entrepreneurship grant program that Black women can access easily to help start a business or grow an existing one. If you have a business plan, some sort of business partnership, and looking for ways to fund your business dream, this opportunity is one you should not let pass you by.
Grants of $5,000, grants of $10,000, and in-kind support to USA Black entrepreneurs to support equal opportunities in business. The purpose of this program is to support high-impact ideas and solutions and break down barriers caused by racial inequality. Eligible applicants are Black women or Black nonbinary entrepreneurs.
The Funding Source believes in a brighter future where the next world-changing business does not go unrealized because of systemic discrimination. SoGal Foundation has teamed up with Winky Lux, Bluemercury, twelve NYC, and Lively to make a small step towards progress by providing cash grants to Black women or nonbinary entrepreneurs.
Awardees will also receive tactical help navigating the fundraising environment at large so that they will have a more equitable opportunity at scaling the next billion-dollar idea. They will also receive lifetime “ask-me-anything” access to the SoGal Foundation and SoGal Ventures teams.
