10k Women Sports Foundation Funds for Mom Athletes

Women athletes have contributed immensely to sports development in the country and around the world. Therefore, any opportunity that comes up where these women can be appreciated for what they do should be supported. The Women’s Sports Foundation (WFS), founded in 1974 to advance the lives of women and girls through sports and physical activity. The foundation has joined with track and field star, US Olympian Allyson Felix and Athleta to create the Child Care Grant.

The grant is intended to help athlete mothers excel at their sport while balancing the challenges of motherhood. WFS’s mission is to enable all girls and women to reach their potential in sports and life by providing financial fuel to aspiring champion athletes to fund groundbreaking research. The foundation educates, advocates, and helps communities get girls active.

The grant is designed to help athlete mothers with childcare expenses. Recipients will be awarded $10,000 each, and $200,000 total in grants will be given away.
